How To Make Sour Milk For Biryani

Biryani is one of the most favorite dishes for many people. Serving it with curd (raita) makes it more appealing to people. Adding sour milk as the ingredient of biryani gives a very different and some sour state to the biryani.

Making sour milk at home is very easy that only needs two ingredients from your kitchen shelf. However, add a glass of milk in a cup, mix it well with 1 tsp of vinegar and 1 tsp of lemon juice and stir it well. Leave the liquid for 10 to 15 minutes at room temperature or until it starts to curdle.

Well, your sour milk is ready; you can use it to make sour milk salad for biryani, or you can add it to your biryani to give it a slightly sour taste.

How to make sour milk salad for biryani

Sour milk salad is the favorite recipe that most people enjoy with biryani; however, the good thing is that it is very easy to make. Here are the following ingredients that you will need to make sour milk salad for your biryani;

  • 1 cup of yogurt
  • 1 cup of sour milk/cream
  • 3 cucumbers
  • 1 finely chopped tomato
  • ½ teaspoon paprika powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Once you have all the ingredients mentioned above in hand, take a salad bowl and whisk together yogurt, paprika powder, sour cream, and garlic. Then, add tomatoes and cucumbers; your sour milk raita is ready; just toss and chill before serving.

Ingredients To make sour milk biryani

Biryani is the only recipe that people of all ages love. Chicken biryani is more famous among other types of biryanis. The procedure of making it can be lengthier, but it can be made by using some simple ingredients as given below;

  • Rice
  • Tomato
  • Onion
  • Green chili
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • Salt
  • Chili powder
  • Turmeric powder
  • Mint leaves and coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh yogurt

For margination, you will need the following ingredients;

  • Chicken
  • Ginger garlic paste
  • Salt
  • Gram Masala
  • Chili powder
  • Coriander powder

First of all, marinate the chicken with the ingredients that have mentioned above and keep it aside for about 30 minutes. Then soak the rice in water for 30 minutes.

Then, heat oil and add chopped onion, mint leaves, green chilies, and salt and sauté for about 2 to 3 minutes.

Add ginger garlic paste, and sauté until raw spells leave.

Then. Add tomatoes, marinated chicken, chili powder, turmeric powder, and sauté for more than 2 to 3 minutes.

Then, cover the chicken for about 10 minutes until the chicken gets cooked. After 10 minutes, uncover it, add fresh yogurt or sour milk, and let it boil. After some time or it starts to boil, then reduce the flame and cook for three minutes. Once cooked, add soaked and drained rice and let their water absorbed about 80%.

At this point, use the clean cloth or towel to cover the skillet and then close the cloth with the lid and heat it on low flame. That’s it! Your yummiest chicken biryani is ready; serve it with soul milk salad and raita.
